⚠️ DRAFT

OP-SA-108-101-2000 — Emergency/Abnormal Operating Procedure Program

Purpose

Administrative procedure governing the use of Emergency Operating Procedures and defining the meaning of EOP flowchart symbols.

Key Actions / Information

Exam — 2023 Q23
The Concurrent Step symbol means initiate the stated action while continuing with the existing flow path. Other EOP flowchart symbols:
  • Sequential Branching — complete the branched action before continuing with the existing flow path
  • Conditional Step — execute if/when the stated conditions occur
  • Wait Step — wait for the stated conditions to be met before proceeding
Exam — 2023 Q77
Per step 2.16.2: continuous action steps should NOT be performed when a Red or Purple path FRP is in progress. Example: EOP-LOCA-1 Step 7.4 (stop CS pumps) is a continuous action — even if conditions to stop CS pumps are met, the step is not performed when transitioning to a Purple path FRP (Thermal Shock). The CRS does not have discretion to override this rule. EOP-LOCA-3 has a separate specific Note (N1-1) that prohibits all FRPs during cold leg recirculation switchover — that is a different prohibition.
Exam -- 2023 Q99
FRP rules of usage (yellow path): EOP-FRCE-3 (High Containment Radiation) is a yellow path procedure -- the CRS may elect to GO TO it, but is not required. Red and orange path FRPs require mandatory entry. Yellow path FRPs are optional and performed at the CRS's discretion based on plant conditions.
