EOP-SGTR-3 — SGTR with LOCA Subcooled Recovery
Purpose
Provides guidance for recovery from a steam generator tube rupture when a concurrent LOCA is indicated by loss of subcooling after SI has been terminated. The procedure addresses the condition where subcooling can be restored by restarting ECCS pumps (subcooled recovery path).
Key Actions / Information
Exam — 2020 Q79
Per EOP-SGTR-1 CAS: If SI has been terminated and RCS subcooling reaches 0°F, start ECCS pumps as necessary to restore subcooling and GO TO EOP-SGTR-3 (SGTR with LOCA – Subcooled Recovery). Do NOT confuse with EOP-SGTR-4 (Saturated Recovery) — SGTR-3 is the correct transition when ECCS pumps can restore subcooling. SGTR-4 applies when saturated conditions persist and subcooled recovery is not achievable.
