S2.OP-ST.CVC-0010 — Borated Water Sources

DRAFT — Reconstructed from exam materials

Purpose

Surveillance procedure to verify borated water sources (RWST and BASTs) meet Tech Spec 3.1.2.6 requirements for level, temperature, and boron concentration. Performed in Modes 1-4.

Key Actions / Information

Attachment 2 — Borated Water Sources Data (Modes 1-4)

Notes

  1. If one BAST is the borated water source, then level and concentration requirements must be maintained in the acceptable operation region of Figure 3.1-2. If two BASTs are the borated water source, then combined volumes are used to satisfy TS 3.1.2.6.a.
  2. For tank capacity data, refer to S2.OP-TM.ZZ-0002(Q).

Acceptance Criteria (Step 5.3)

  • Step 5.3.1: Surveillance is considered satisfactory when Attachments 2 and 3 (as applicable) are complete with components listed meeting Acceptance Criteria stated in each Attachment.
JPM — 2019 RO-A2
Borated Water Sources surveillance with narrow-margin UNSAT results. Combined BAST level: 48% + 48% = 96%. Per TS 3.1.2.6 Figure 3.1-2, required level at 6650 ppm concentration is >96.5% — volume is UNSAT. Similarly, BAST concentration of 6650 ppm is just below the required ~6675 ppm from Figure 3.1-2 at 96% level — also UNSAT. RWST parameters (level 41.4 ft, temp 70 F, conc 2350 ppm) and BAST temperatures (100 F, 98.1 F) are all SAT. Overall surveillance is UNSAT.
