S2.OP-SO.CBV-0001 — Containment Ventilation Operation
Purpose
Provides direction for normal operation of containment ventilation systems including containment fan coil units (CFCUs).
Key Actions / Information
JPM — 2023 Sim-f
Referenced during CFCU surveillance testing. CFCU flow acceptance criteria use P&L 3.4 — for a measured differential pressure, use the next higher DP value from the table to determine minimum required flow.
Exam — 2022 Q59
Section 4.3 note: IRUs should only be run when iodine is present in Containment, when requested by Radiation Protection, OR at the discretion of the SM/CRS to support testing. The IRUs can only be operated from the main control room. IRUs are NOT directed by EOPs and cannot be operated from the Hot Shutdown Panel.
JPM — 2018 Sim-a / 2019 Sim-a
Section 5.4 provides direction for starting/stopping CRDM Vent Fans. However, this procedure provides NO direction for a loss of ALL CRDM Vent Fans — the ARP (S2.OP-AR.ZZ-0011) directs the reactor trip when no fans are running. Tested in both 2018 and 2019 operating exams.
JPM — 2019 Sim-f
Section 5.1.2: shift CFCU from high speed to low speed. HIGH SPEED STOP → wait 25 seconds (per Note) → LOW SPEED START. Verify damper positions: ROUGH FLT DAMPER CLOSED, HEPA INLET DAMPER OPEN, HEPA OUTLET DAMPER OPEN. Then return to S2.OP-ST.CBV-0003 for surveillance data recording.
