S2.OP-ST.CBV-0001 — Inservice Testing Containment Ventilation Valves

Purpose

Performs inservice testing (IST) of containment ventilation isolation valves per ASME OM requirements. Tests stroke times of containment isolation valves and evaluates results against acceptance criteria.

Key Actions / Information

  • Step 5.4.3.A: Review completed procedure for accuracy and completeness
  • Step 5.4.3.B: Declare valves with ACCEPTABLE RANGE stroke times OPERABLE
  • Step 5.4.3.C: Valves in REQUIRED EVALUATION RANGE — immediately retest OR declare inoperable
  • Step 5.4.3.D: Valves in REQUIRED ACTION RANGE — immediately declare inoperable and evaluate Tech Specs
JPM — 2023 SRO-A2
Surveillance test review catches two errors: 2VC13 stroke time is in the REQUIRED ACTION RANGE (not SAT) — declare inoperable, enter TS LCO 3.6.3 (4 hours to restore, close 2VC14, isolate penetration, or begin shutdown). 2VC12 stroke time is in the REQUIRED EVALUATION RANGE (not SAT) — must immediately retest with results evaluated by IST Implementation Engineer, or declare inoperable.
JPM — 2022 SRO-A3
Surveillance review catches 2VC5 stroke time of 2.83 seconds in the REQUIRED ACTION RANGE (> 2.0 seconds) — immediately declare 2VC5 inoperable, enter TS LCO 3.6.3. Actions: close and deactivate companion valve 2VC6 within 4 hours (action 1.b), OR isolate penetration within 4 hours (action 1.c), OR Hot Standby in 6 hours and Cold Shutdown in 30 hours (action 1.d).
